Using Gift Aid when you donate
Donating through Gift Aid means you can increase the value of your donation at no extra cost to you. If you are a UK tax payer, using Gift Aid means that we can claim an extra 25p per £1 donated from the government, helping your donation go further. It doesn't cost you a thing - all you need to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration when donating to Hampshire Hospitals Charity.
How do I donate through Gift Aid?
When you make a donation to Hampshire Hospitals Charity, just complete a declaration form, which can be downloaded here. Once completed, please send to our fundraising team at the following address:
Fundraising Office, Hampshire Hospitals Charity, Ashley Wing, Winchester Hospital, Romsey Road, Winchester, SO22 5DG
What if my circumstances change?
If any of the following occur, please notify our fundraising team by emailing hh.charity@hhft.nhs.uk:
You stop being a UK taxpayer
You do not fully understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
You wish to cancel your declaration, following a cancellation we will not claim Gift Aid on any donations you make on or after the date of cancellation.
You change your name or home address, or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
Please note: If you pay Income Tax at a higher or additional rate and want to receive additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you give we get an extra 25p from HM Revenue and Customs, thus helping your donation to go further at no extra cost to you. To enable us to take advantage of Gift Aid, please download and complete the form, returning it to us with your donation.
Please remember that to qualify for Gift Aid, you must have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that you donate to will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Please note that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
